About the Texas CDL hazard classes test
Nine hazard classes organize everything a placarded driver hauls, and the Texas CDL hazmat hazard classes test checks that you can place a shipment in the right one on sight. Explosives, gases, flammable liquids, flammable solids, oxidizers and organic peroxides, poisons and infectious substances, radioactive material, corrosives, and the miscellaneous class each carry their own handling and paperwork consequences under the 2026 rules.
This hazard classes practice test for Texas CDL candidates goes past memorizing a list. You will work with division numbers inside a class, the way a class determines which placard hangs on the trailer, which materials cannot legally travel together in one load, and how the shipping name and identification number tie the class back to the shipping papers. Get the class wrong and the segregation table, the placard, and the emergency response guidance all go wrong with it.
The Texas CDL Manual states how many questions the hazardous materials endorsement exam actually contains, so check the current figure there. Drill these Texas hazmat classes until the numbering feels like second nature.
Every question traces back to the Texas CDL Manual - skim the right-of-way and signs chapters before your retake.
