About the Texas Class A CDL exam simulator
Searching for a Texas Class A CDL practice test or a class A drivers license practice test puts you here, and this full-length simulator is built for exactly that. A class A permit practice test in Texas is really the general knowledge exam: 50 questions with an 80 percent passing score, or 40 right answers, under federal FMCSA rules. Your class is settled by the skills test and the vehicle you bring, not by the written questions.
Understanding the CDL classifications helps. Class A covers a combination rated over 26,001 pounds towing a trailer rated over 10,000 pounds, the tractor-trailer configuration that hauls freight up the I-35 corridor and moves containers out of the Port of Houston. Class B covers a single vehicle over 26,001 pounds. Class C covers smaller vehicles carrying placarded hazardous materials or 16 or more passengers. Those are the three types of CDL license, and the different types of CDL all begin with this same written exam.
Study the Texas CDL Manual, then retake this Texas Class A CDL test until your score holds.
Every question traces back to the Texas CDL Manual - skim the right-of-way and signs chapters before your retake.
