Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Lernova Ventures LLC (“DMVPrepNow”, “we”, “us”), the operator of DMVPrepNow.com (the “Service”), collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the Service you agree to this Policy. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms of Use.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account details: name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash; we never see or store your password in plain text).
- Study program: the state, license type, study language, and (optionally) exam date you select.
- Optional onboarding answers: your motivation, concerns, and how you heard about us, if you choose to answer.
- Newsletter email: if you subscribe to updates.
- Support messages: anything you send to support@dmvprepnow.com.
Information collected automatically
- Practice activity: your test attempts and results, including which questions you answered and how (this powers your progress, results screens, and the Fix It Bank). Quiz submissions include the IP address of the request.
- Usage counters: an anonymous session identifier (a random cookie, or a salted one-way hash of IP and browser data when the cookie is unavailable) used only to count how many people are practicing; it cannot be traced back to you.
- Technical logs: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept for security and troubleshooting.
Payment information
When paid passes are sold, payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. Your full card details are sent directly to the processor and are never stored on our servers. We receive only confirmation of payment and basic transaction details.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the Service: accounts, progress tracking, the Fix It Bank, results, and pass access bound to your state and license type.
- To send Service emails: account notifications, password resets, and, where you subscribed, product updates (every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option).
- To improve the Service: understanding which tests and features are used, in aggregate.
- To provide support and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their advertising.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
We use a small set of first-party cookies and browser storage needed for the Service to work (login sessions, quiz progress, preferences). They are described in detail in our Cookie Policy. We currently run no advertising and no third-party ad trackers.
4. Third-Party Services
- Fonts and libraries: some pages load fonts from Google Fonts and script libraries from public CDNs; those providers receive your IP address as part of serving the files.
- Review platforms: we may invite you to leave a review on a third-party platform (for example, Trustpilot). Following such a link is voluntary and subject to that platform’s own privacy policy.
- Analytics: if we introduce analytics tools, they will be reflected in this Policy and in the Cookie Policy before or at the time of rollout.
5. Data Retention
Account data and practice history are kept while your account exists so your progress is preserved. Anonymous usage counters are kept for 24 hours. Server logs are rotated on a regular schedule. If you delete your account, we remove or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (for example, records of payments).
6. Your Rights
You may access, correct, download, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting support@dmvprepnow.com. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in any such email. Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights (such as under the California Consumer Privacy Act); we honor valid requests regardless of your state of residence.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls limiting who can view personal data. No online service can guarantee absolute security; if we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as required by law.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it. Users under 18 should use the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify account holders by email or a notice on the Service.
