About the Washington motorcycle alcohol & impairment test
Impairment kills a startling share of riders, and this quiz confronts that reality head-on. Alcohol raises your blood alcohol concentration and degrades exactly what riding demands balance, judgment, reaction time, and vision long before you feel obviously drunk. This set makes sure you understand how quickly a couple of drinks erode the skills two wheels require.
Beyond alcohol, you will review fatigue and other impairments that dull awareness, plus the zero-tolerance mindset that experienced riders adopt: if you plan to ride, you do not drink, period. These concepts are covered in the Washington Motorcycle Operator Manual, and the Washington DOL treats impaired riding as one of the gravest risks a motorcyclist can take in 2026.
Expect impairment questions on the Class M knowledge exam. With 25 questions and an 80% pass line, these are among the easiest points to earn and the most important lessons to carry with you every single time you throw a leg over the seat.
Every question traces back to the Washington Motorcycle Manual - skim the right-of-way and signs chapters before your retake.
