About the Washington motorcycle visibility & being seen test
The most common excuse after a crash is "I never saw the motorcycle," and this quiz is about never letting that be true of you. Being seen is an active job: lane position, bright gear, headlight use, and eye contact all work to make you obvious to drivers who are not looking for a rider.
This set drills the SEE strategy Search, Evaluate, Execute a mental routine for scanning ahead, judging what could go wrong, and acting early. You will also review checking blind spots your own and other vehicles' and how to stay out of the zones where drivers cannot see you. The Washington Motorcycle Operator Manual details these habits, and the Washington DOL treats them as core safety knowledge for 2026.
Visibility questions are frequent on the Class M knowledge exam. With 25 questions and 80% needed to pass, a rider who has genuinely absorbed how to be seen and how to see gains a real edge over one who guesses.
Every question traces back to the Washington Motorcycle Manual - skim the right-of-way and signs chapters before your retake.
