About the Missouri motorcycle group riding test
Riding with others has its own set of rules, and this set teaches them. It covers group riding: the staggered formation that preserves space, keeping safe spacing front to back, and the hand signals and etiquette that keep a pack organized. Even solo-minded riders need this for the 2026 Class M exam.
You will reason about why a staggered layout beats riding side by side, how to regroup without pressure, and why the group should move at the pace of its least experienced member. The Missouri DOR includes this because a disorganized group multiplies risk for everyone in it.
The pass standard is the familiar 25 questions with 80 percent correct, 20 right, for the Class M endorsement. If formation spacing is unclear, the Missouri Motorcycle Operator Manual describes the recommended setup. Learn to ride predictably within a group and you will earn these points at the Missouri DMV while making every Missouri group ride safer.
Every question traces back to the Missouri Motorcycle Manual - skim the right-of-way and signs chapters before your retake.
