About the New Jersey CDL placarding test
Placards are what tell every responder on the New Jersey Turnpike what is inside your trailer before they get close enough to read a shipping paper. This CDL hazmat placarding test drills the two placard tables, the 1,001 pound aggregate rule that triggers Table 2 placarding, and the materials in Table 1 that require placards at any quantity. You will also practice placement: four sides, readable, clear of dirt and ladders, and turned right side up.
Expect New Jersey hazmat placarding questions on the DANGEROUS placard for mixed loads, subsidiary placards, the driver's duty to placard a vehicle the shipper failed to placard, and removing placards once the material is gone.
The hazardous materials endorsement exam is not the same length in every state, so pull the exact question count from your New Jersey CDL Manual before test day. Working this hazmat placard practice test in 2026 is the quickest way to stop second guessing which table applies to the load in front of you.
Every question traces back to the New Jersey CDL Manual - skim the right-of-way and signs chapters before your retake.
