About the Ohio motorcycle turning & cornering test

Turning a motorcycle is not like steering a car, and this quiz makes sure you know the difference. Countersteering, pressing forward on the handgrip in the direction you want to lean, is how riders initiate turns at speed, and it is a favorite subject on the Ohio motorcycle temps test. The slow-look-press-roll technique gives you a repeatable method: slow before the corner, look through it, press to lean, and roll on the throttle to stabilize.

Choosing a good cornering line keeps you visible and gives you room to react. Where does this fit in scoring? Cornering questions are part of the 40-question Class M exam, and you still need 75% correct to pass. The Ohio BMV expects riders to explain why looking through a curve improves control, so study the reasoning, not just the phrase.

Reinforce every concept with the Ohio Motorcycle Operator Manual, and these turning skills will serve you well beyond the exam that earns your endorsement.

Every question traces back to the Ohio Motorcycle Manual - skim the right-of-way and signs chapters before your retake.
